And then the clouds break
I was reading a post in Brain Pickings this week about the role weather has played in human experience. It has this quote from EB White:
“Sailors have an expression about the weather: they say, the weather is a great bluffer. I guess the same is true of our human society — things can look dark, then a break shows in the clouds, and all is changed, sometimes rather suddenly.”
This has been the story of my week. Bleakness, grief, and no energy at the start of the week. Optimism, belief and a spring in my step now.
Nothing has changed dramatically. I am still living the same life circumstances. But somehow there has been a break in the clouds, and the world around me looks brighter.
Patience, persistence, and consistency: this is my mantra, through dark times and bright.
